Catherines of Partick have a long and rich history providing Mother of the Bride Dresses, Evening Wear and Prom Dresses to name a few things they do. It’s a family run business where attention to detail is crucial to a customer being happy, something they certainly excel at!
So when they came to CONTACT to help them get their website higher up the search engine rankings we were honoured to work with them and their brand.
We did a series of business intelligence reports to find out what was going on in their market.
First was an Analytics Report, this was where we looked at the current website statistics to find out what current visitors were doing.
We found some interesting facts about how their site was losing customers year on year and more importantly why this was happening. Thankfully Catherines of Partick were already creating a new website that addressed this issue, but now they knew the investment was very important.
We discovered many other interesting facts like what cities visitors were coming from, this helps Catherines of Partick understand where they could do some specific marketing/ad campaigns.
The next report was a Competitor Analysis Report, this is where we identified 3 competitors and basically looked at them in a lot more detail. We found various things like what keywords the competition were targeting, if there was an actual demand for them and how successful or how well their Search Engine Optimisation campaigns were.
The final report was our biggest Epic Keyword Analysis Report we’ve ever done, the last one was 155,000 keyword combinations, this was smashed by the 925,000 keyword combinations that the Catherines of Partick report revealed. Don’t get us wrong a lot of those combinations yielded no searches, but we now know for sure that we’re not missing any out that do have searches.
Back in December 2013 Catherines of Partick had just 20 keywords total showing up in Google for their website. Thankfully when we were brought in they were already in the process of building a brand new responsive website, one that was far more mobile & tablet friendly to aid in their new marketing push online. We were able to work with 6274 Design to help in the process of optimising the on page elements to increase the sites effectiveness in the search engines.
This gave us the perfect type of site to really get things moving with as for us we just had to deal purely with SEO Strategy & Action.
We managed to take those 20 keywords and get an additional 1287 brand new relevant keywords into Google, 643 of them on Page 1 alone!

Just to qualify the results above are keywords that people are actually typing in or searching for to bring in relevant traffic to the site. If we were to also add in 0 search keywords for the top ten as well (Actually Google reports up to 9 searches, so these could be bringing in real traffic) then our full number of keywords in the top ten of Google is now actually 2719.
Since starting a Google Adwords Campaign for Catherines of Partick at the very tail end of February we have managed to save them a total of around £19,000 from the original AdWord quoted Cost Per Click price. This means that they essentially got more clicks for their budget, so to put it another way for only £2,308.16 + our fee they have actually had nearly £17,000 worth of Google AdWords and all of them showing in position 1 on page 1 of Google.
Well in December when we first started on their Search Engine Optimisation Campaign we optimised their website to get the most out of it, we also did some high quality link building to increase the profile of the site online.
With this and other safe techniques we managed to bring in 1,918 additional appropriate visitors to the site and the product enquiries went up by at least 20%.
Continuing to use our White Hat, No Risk, SEO Techniques and link building in January we managed to bring in a whopping 9,556 new visitors and their product enquiries went up by over 100%.
They had the best month in the company’s long and amazing history of 75 years!
Right now (Sept 2014) we are on track to brining in over 160% of organic relevant UK traffic compared to last year to their website and this is supposed to be their quiet season!
